She developed and is the Instructor for the Genealogy Program at Santa Rosa Jr. College in Santa Rosa, California. Moving South: Canadian Migration to the United States with Dave Gaboury.
During a 50 year period around the end of the 19th century, nearly a million Canadians moved to the United States. If you have Canadian ancestors, chances are they were part of this mass migration. French Settlement in Canada in the 1600’s with Chris Pelikan. Chris will talk about Samuel de Champlain’s exploration, settlements, the rise “Mercantilism”, population growth, his ancestors role in this early Canadian history and briefly discuss French migration south in 1700’s. [Presentation]
